how to line a spin cast (closed face) reel
i cannot put my spincast reel back together?
i opened my spincasting reel to put some new line in but it seems like i completely disassembled and now i cannot put the pieces where they belong. thanks for the help in advance!
He said its a spin cast reel Unknown, You do have to take the face off of a spin cast to change or add new line. And for the question I don't know what type of reel you have or which piece you are having trouble with so I don't know what to tell you. It should be only one piece thats troubling you right? Because you need to put it back in the order it came off so you should not be adding parts out of order right? The only part I have ever seen give anybody problems would be the spool but there is no reason to have taken the spool off. You only have to remove the cap or cone on a spincast to add line. Can you be more specific so I can try and help you better?
Setting Up Suitable Catfishing Line And Opting For The Right Catfishing Gear
At the same time there is an old saying, "don't bring a knife to a gunfight". The most powerful fish you're about to go up against are the blue and flathead catfish that weigh over 50 pounds. It has been known that some can easily exceed 120 pounds of weight.
Another thing you should bare in mind is the conditions of the water in the deep level. Snags, rocks and things under the water can easily do the damage to your catfishing line. Big cats will run for cover when hooked and if they make it there chances are you have lost this battle.
There are three main types of line but for the average angler the main thing to be concerned with is strength. Your major line should stay under 20 lb. test. Go for a braided line arond 40-50 pounds, you wish to spend more. Test.
You insist it's no sport. Using a 50 lb. test line to hook a 10 lb. catfish. I agree, but if you want to be sporting you put a lighter line (leader) at the end of your terminal tackle attached to a swivel with your sinker on the main line. You will think this is at much reasonable priced.
The most important catfishing gear that you need to get right when you first learn catfishing, is choosing good catfishing reels.
Another objective of this article is to walk you through different types and brands of catfising reels, as a basic guideline when opting for a good catfishing equipment.
First of all, let's take a look at one of the most vital aspects, which is the kindof setup. There're many types of reels available, also known as bait casting (batcaster), spinning, and spincasting.
Some people find it acceptable to implement a spincasting or spinning model, for catfishing the pro guys often use a baitcasting model (aka a baitcaster). Many fishermen are reluctant by these kinds of fishing feels for catfishing but don't be. If you're going to be a catfisherman you need to get a bait casting model and learn to cast with it. This only takes a few hours of practice in casting in the yard, and you'll soon do it like a pro.
It will pay off a great deal to learn the skill of proper casting with this types of reels. Don't just stick to using the spinning and spincasting gear. Efficient, and well-known catfishing tricks involves the area found on good baitcasting setups.
Things to consider when buying good catfishing reels:
A number of things you might want to look at when opting for catfishing reels. Here are the key features and things that you will need.
- Line Capacity - Look for a reel that has good line capacity making it strong enought to tolerate the heavy weight of test catfishing line.
- Drag - You certainly want a nice smooth drag when landing big catfish. This is vital.
- Gear Ratio - Look for a lower gear ratio on the fishing reel, this means a slower retrieve and more power. A reel with a gear ratio of 3:1 has a much slower retrieve than a setup with a 6:1 ratio. Slower is better in this regard.
- Bait Clicker/Line Alarm - A bait clicker or line alarm is an essential function for most catfishermen when choosing fishing reels for catfishing. There are many techniques that are used that require the bait clicker or line alarm function.
