Andrew Martinsen Reviews Artificial Walleye Baits
Hi, Andrew Martinsen here. Here are some reviews of popular walleye baits.
Walleye fishing is a popular event for many anglers. In response, companies have produced an abundance of walleye lures. The choices of walleye lures can be mind boggling. When an angler can't have them all, there are five brands that are worth having on hand.
Lindy lures are lures that many anglers don't want to be without. They have a stellar reputation because both their quality and success are stellar. Lindy is known for using fishing guides to test and critic their products. This gives their line real-life feedback which makes honing the lure to perfection much easier.
Lindy has a whole line of lures, rigs and jigs geared toward bringing home walleye. The Original Lindy Rig is an old-timer lure that is still the favorite of many an angler. Lindy isn't a company that rides the waves of its successes for too long. They are always developing new lures like the X-change Jig System. Anglers and walleye are always changing; Lindy is there keeping up with them.
If an angler where to get a glimpse into a tournament angler's tackle box, they would probably see the name Cotton Cordell a few times. Cotton Cordell lures were originally designed by fishing guides.
These guides need a lure that was easy to fish while still bringing in walleye. The end result became a line of lures that incite strikes even in the heaviest fished water. Cotton Cordell still works closely with guides and professional anglers to develop killer products.
The Cotton Cordell Grappler Shad is one of the better known deep-diving crankbaits. Another companion in the walleye line of lures is the Wally Diver. This lure was made with profiles, actions and colors that walleyes love. Cotton Cordell lures are known for their realism, durability and producing capabilities.
A walleye tackle box would not be complete without some contributions from the Storm brand. Storm hard and soft baits are a big favorite of professional anglers. The Storm Junior Thunderstick always makes the cut when the pros are asked for a favored lure.
Thundersticks have a lot of flash and motion in the water. This makes them perfect for trolling. The Storm brand offers variations that cover a multitude of depths. No matter how deep the walleye are suspended, Storm has a lure that can reach them.
Another brand that stands out is the Flatfish Spinners. These spinners look like squashed bananas. They are shallow divers that come in a multitude of colors and sizes. They have a side to side pulse that walleye go mad for. They run great when the water is cold and the speed is slow.
The last brand that an angler should add to their box is the Mepps Spinners. These spinners have been around for twenty years but walleye still love them. The number 5 model in silver tops the list of walleye lures in the line. Walleye can't help but find these spinners appealing.
Once again this has been Andrew Martinsen. Well that concludes my reviews of popular walleye baits. There are a lot of walleye lures on the market. Some work better than others. These five brands work well for walleye on any given day. Having a few of these in the tackle box will certainly help an angler have a good day of fishing.
